All Systems Go

One of my favorite periods in American history is the whole ‘Race to the Moon’ epic during the 60’s. Everything about that purpose and ambition is inspiring in every way for me. And I have to admit that one of my favorite scenes in a film, is that moment in Apollo 13 where the whole team at launch control gives their “Go for Launch” routine…

I also must admit that I kinda felt like one one those dorky guys in my short-sleeved shirt giving a ‘GO’ this weekend as we launched our first satellite campus in Dickson. There was a sense that we had done all we possibly could, and all that was left was for us to light the fuse and watch it go. That reality of just how many people it takes to pull off a brief this moment in time is sometimes overwhelming in ministry, but likewise, the impact of that single event far outweighs everything we leveraged to get there. I am so proud to be a part of this history in our Church and can’t wait to set that next rocket on the pad!

It’s a blast sitting at the controls with you. And yes, you are a dork!
